Open House, August 8
Once again Malden elementary school held an open house for parents and Beta students were guides for parents and grandparents as they met with teachers and familiarized themselves with the school.
Alumni Homecoming, September 1-3
Former MHS graduates came to Malden over Labor Day weekend and Beta members were on hand to help them celebrate coming home! We participated in the parade, served at meals and watched children while old friends re-connected with one another.
Grandparent’s Day, September 9
Acknowledging grandparents is an annual tradition at Malden elementary; another tradition is having Beta members help out! Volunteering to be escorts and serving snacks always proves to be fun for everyone!
Lions Club Pancake Breakfast, September 20
Beta members enjoy donating their time to cook, serve and clean up at this annual event so as to help children get much needed eyewear.
Science Fair, September 30
Always ready to be of service, Betas set up tables for participants to use and helped unload boards and supplies.
Hot Chili, Cool Cars, October 15
MHS Beta members helped participants set up booths, work shifts and clean up after this annual event.
Canned Food Drive, October 28
Another annual event is collecting canned goods to help stock local food pantries. Betas not only donate themselves but also contact local businesses and citizens to contribute as well.
Thanksgiving, November 24
Working with the Ministerial Alliance to serve a wonderful Thanksgiving meal was a wonderful way to start the holiday season with a grateful heart!
Bell Ringing, December 3
The Salvation Army can always count on MHS Beta members to lend a hand. We know that helping others is a good thing that can always be lots of fun.
College Night, December 9
Working with senior class sponsors as colleges distributed information to seniors is helpful as well as educational.
Shop With a Cop, December 13
For another year Beta worked with local policemen to purchase and wrap Christmas presents for children in the community.
Betas Have Heart, February 14
Every year Malden High School is inundated with flowers and gifts by people showing their love for one another. The office counts on Betas to make sure each they all are delivered to their rightful Valentine.
Special Olympics, April 14
Acting as event managers, cheerleaders, award presenters, and helping those who need physical assistance keeps MHS Beta members happily busy each year.
Teacher Appreciation Week, May 7-11
Showing our teachers that we’re grateful for their hard work and dedication is always worth it. Members serve refreshments and act as aids where they are needed.
MoDot Hwy Clean Up, Oct 8, Dec 10, Mar 3, May 12
Because we have a section of Highway 25 designated for our club, each semester teams of Beta members go out and pick up litter in that location as well as other local highways.
Baseball Concessions, season/summer
Even though we’re still working in a small trailer until the new concession stand is built, Beta members have fun working shifts to sell food and drinks to players and fans.
Ronald McDonald House, ALL YEAR
Tradition continues: Malden Beta collects pull tabs for Ronald McDonald House. Every year. All year long.
St. Jude, ALL YEAR
All year, every year, every Beta member gives time and money to benefit this very worthwhile cause—we love St. Jude!
Muscular Dystrophy Association, ALL YEAR
We make a muscle for MDA at every opportunity during the school year.

Throughout the year Malden teachers of all levels know that they can call on Beta to help out whenever they are called upon. If extra hands are needed our members will be there with smiling faces!

Throughout the year there are various functions and activities where the senior citizens of the community could use some younger helping hands. Whenever they need us, we show up!
