Magazine Sales:
At the start of each lap (year) Malden Beta Club begins to rev the engine with their annual magazine sales. In this first points race, which started August 27th, each Malden Beta member is given an opportunity to sell ten magazines or CDs in order to attend state convention. Those students that sell 18 or more magazines or CDs qualify to attend a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game in April of the school year. The total profit from approximately 40 sales helps provide funds for service projects, state convention costs, and other various activities in which Beta participates.

Back to School Bash:
The Junior and Senior Beta Clubs teamed up to sponsor a back to school dance and other fun activities for grades 7-12 of MHS on August 29th. Students were able to find their inside groove and enjoy refreshments. The highlight of the night was the bashing of a car on the school parking lot. The students had a great time completely demolishing the vehicle with sledge hammers; when it was over it looked like there had been a crash!

Summer League Concession:
The school district built a new baseball complex and BETA raced to have the opportunity to run the concession stand. It was time consuming but worth the effort!

Annual Alumni Association Homecoming:
On September 1st, Malden BETA Club raffled off many prizes for the alumni and decorated a float for the class of 1959. The club members were happy to help out and the community was very appreciative.

50/50 Ticket Sales:
During each home football game, BETA students stayed in gear for fast fundraising by holding a 50/50 drawing where one lucky attendee could receive a cash drawing during half-time.  This was a profitable 50/50 fundraiser for the BETA club and also for a lucky individual during 6 home games!

Hot Chili/Cool Cars:
In October the city of Malden sponsors a well-attended gathering of chili cook-off contestants and antique cars, tractors, and motorcycles.  During this day-long event Malden Betas spent the day circulating in the crowds to sell sodas and water as well as greet fans of Beta and thank them for their flat-out support.

Cheer Tattoos:
As a warm-up lap to home football games, the BETA students set up a booth near the infield (commons) to sell face tattoos in support of the Malden Green Wave.  Tattoos were a big seller for the young students in attendance at the ball games.

Play Day:
At the end of the year students get clean air and bodywork at the elementary play day and high school game day while the Beta Club uses the day to earn some extra cash by selling refreshments.

Cardinal Raffle Tickets:
As the club raced to earn money for convention, the Malden BETA club raffled off a set of 4 Cardinal tickets and the bidding was fast and furious!

Tee Shirt Sales:
Mid-way through the racing season (school year) Malden Betas sold tee shirts to Malden students, staff and members of the community.

Golf Tournament:
BETAs had the drive to help with a local golf tournament and enjoyed a nice day on the golf course with people from the surrounding communities.

Boston Butts:
A favorite event each season is the selling of barbeque—Jimmy James is quite the cook and has many fans who anticipate this fundraiser with excitement.

Public Performance:
We are very proud of the approximately 40 students involved in group talent! Scheduled to compete at state convention in March, Malden BETA Club takes every opportunity to practice! Again this year there will be a public performance with donations accepted in lieu of admission. This is another annual event the community greatly anticipates.
