About Beta Club

Dr. John W. Harris formed the first Beta Club in Landrum, South Carolina, in 1934. The National Beta Club is the nation's largest educational youth organization that is committed to recognizing and promoting high academic achievement, rewarding and nurturing worthy character, fostering leadership skills and encouraging service to others.

With more than 8,000 clubs nationally and internationally, Beta Club has worked with over six million young people and now has more than 420,000 active members. Empowering young people to be successful and working to develop them into the leaders of tomorrow, Beta prepares students for life today.
